“These are comics that have risen up through the Improv comedy clubs,Soon after,” says Robert Hartmann, managing partner of the Southern California Improvs and CEO of Levity Entertainment Group. “Gabe, Daniel and Maria, they spent a lot of their early years performing in Improvs and we have great relationships with them. It’s great that the bigger stars come back here to perform in a more intimate setting that you just don’t get in a 10,000-seat theater.”

Garrett Law will return to his hometown to bring a musical experience to residents along with helping a local institution. The event will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church. Admission is free, but attendees will have the opportunity to make a donation to Restoration of Hope, a local shelter for women and children survivors of domestic violence. (I) just like to play for people in my hometown since they obviously don't get to hear me play very often. It will be mostly horn,Before Oracle announced its e, with some solo piano playing. Terrie Shires, who is on faculty at the University of Central Arkansas, will be providing piano accompaniment. We will be playing works by Mozart, Strauss, Messiaen and Rachmaninoff, Law explained. This will be Law s second concert held in Stuttgart. His performance was during the holidays last year. I felt last year went very well, there was a good amount of people there,English author Mary Hamden in, and raised more money than I expected, he explained. I'm excited to get to play for people again and try to help Restoration of Hope once more, however much that may be. Places like Restoration of Hope tug at my heart a little bit because I havealso studied women's studies at school, including soldiers and police, particularly gender and violence issues, and also do some volunteer work with the Sexual Assault Center in Nashville. (I) saw first hand how important it is to have places like Restoration of Hope for people to have access to in order to escape dangerous situations that are hard to leave for a multitude of reasons. Knowing a lot about how the cycle of abuse and violence works particularly with domestic violence, it is important to Law to advocate for causes that offer steps to counter their dangerous situations as Restoration of Hope does. He believes the recital brings awareness to the issue of power-based violence, which is equally important to raising funds. Gender/power-based violence surrounds us locally but it isn't something often talked about. I hope to aid in starting that dialogue through the program, he said. It means a lot also to be able to play for people in the communitywho have supported me since I began music. I've grown a lot as a person and musician being in school, and it means a lot to be able to share that trough playing for people I don't necessarily get to see very often. Law is currently attending Vanderbilt University in Nashville. He is in his final year and will be graduating with a bachelor s degree in music performance, studying horn with Leslie Norton, principal horn of the Nashville Symphony. Page 2 of 2 - I am in the process of applying to graduate programs to obtain a master s in musicperformance and will be auditioning for those programs in the spring, he said of his future plans. Law graduated from Stuttgart High School in 2011 and is the son of Charles and Amy Law of Stuttgart.
